Level Select Map
You reach the level select map for the current level set by clicking 'Play'
from the Main Menu. If you have multiple level sets,
you can change your current level set in the Options Menu by
clicking 'Change Level Set', choosing which set you would like to play, and then returning to the main menu.
Through the Level Select Map you choose which level
of your current set you wish to play. Each level is represented
by a rectangular button. When you first enter a level set, only
a few buttons are visible. As you finish levels, more difficult
levels become available, so buttons will be added to the map. You
do not have to complete every level in one group before the next
set becomes available. Complete the last five levels for that set
and the next group will automatically open for you.
Within each of the rectangular buttons is a spot for
a gem and a spot for a diskette symbol. When you complete a level,
the gem spot will be filled with a gem, the color of which shows
how well you did on that level. A
gem indicates that you tied or beat our high score, a
gem shows you were close to our score, and a
gem shows that you completed the level, but were not close to our
score. You may at any time repeat a level, and if you improve your
score, your results will be updated (if you do worse the second
time, we will keep your original score).
If you have a saved game for a level, the diskette
symbol
will be shown. If you click on the diskette
,
that level will be started and the saved game will be run. This
will bring you to the point in the level where you saved your progress. If you have multiple game
saves, it will run the save in which you have the highest score at the end of the save. A more in depth
description of game saves is on the Controls
& Scoring page.
While on the Level Select Map, you may highlight level
buttons using either the mouse or the arrow keys. When a level is
highlighted, the name of the level will appear at the bottom of
the screen, along with your best score and our best score. When
you press 'enter' or click with the left mouse button, the highlighted
level will be started.
